BCES LOVES their new Quilt Square! Please look over as you travel Hwy 19E and see the beautiful quilt square located on the east side of the building. This project began five years ago as Ms. Duncan was doing a math lesson on quilt squares with her 3rd grade class. She invited Ms. Barbara Webster, renown local artist and quilt square project coordinator, to visit and educate her students on the real life math connections and problem solving skills implemented in this cultural art form. From there, a committee was formed and lead by Ms. Hunter and Ms. Peterson. The result is this pattern called "Generations" designed in school colors to reflect the rich history of the close nit Bald Creek Community and School where multiple generations of family have attended the since 1860. Principal Sherry Robinson states, "This is a beautiful representation of wonderful generations of people. It's our pleasure to provide this for our community and visitors passing by to view on a daily basis."
