Greetings from Bald Creek Elementary School where Eagles “Soar To Excellence”! Our 1938 historic stone school and gymnasium are nestled in the beautiful Bald Creek Community beneath the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Our rural, Title I school is home to two hundred, ten students and around thirty-five faculty and staff members.
Our small school atmosphere affords students the privilege of being personally known by all adults and receiving the individual attention they deserve. Students are recognized in awards programs at the end of each nine week period for academic achievements, perfect attendance, and citizenship. We are a PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) school which focuses on recognizing positive behavior and presents a monthly principal’s award for manners and respect. The academic day consists of a Language Arts and Math block, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Art, and Music. Technology is integrated into all curricular areas. The after school program consists of a 4-H sponsored program and tutoring in reading and math. To enrich our student’s educational experience, we provide all grade levels with field trips aligned to the NC Standard Course of Study. The fourth graders enjoy our state capitol, Raleigh, each year. The fifth graders experience our nation’s capitol, Washington DC, each year. All K-5 students are offered the opportunity to participate in Youth League sports consisting of softball, cheerleading, baseball, football, soccer, and basketball. Our highly qualified faculty and staff are committed to explicit instruction in all subject areas, providing learning environments where students feel free to take risks, meeting NC’s high standards, nurturing the self-esteem of students,
and offering a warm and welcoming climate for both students and parents. We believe home and school must share the same focus on our student’s best interest. Together, we are doing great things and "Soaring To Excellence"! Best Regards,
Ms. Sherry F. Robinson
